Father's Day Brunch in Montrose & Glendale: The Easy Win

Father's Day lands on Sunday, June 21 this year, and we'll be upfront with you: we don't have a ticketed event, a prix fixe, or a “special Father's Day menu.” We're a family-owned café, and in our experience, most dads don't want a production. They want a really good plate of food, a really good cup of coffee, and the people they love around one table — without anyone making a speech.
That's the brunch we've been serving on Honolulu Avenue since 2021. Here's why toasted. is the easy Father's Day win in Montrose — the foothill neighborhood of Glendale where our café lives — and one honest tip about timing that most people miss.
What dads actually want to eat
Our menu runs 83 items deep, so the pickiest member of the family and the hungriest one both land somewhere happy. But for Father's Day specifically, let us point you at the heavy hitters:
- Breakfast Pastrami sandwich — $17.95. This is the plate we'd put in front of our own dad. Pastrami at breakfast is a statement, and it's the right one.
- Pastrami Egg Benedict — $22.75. For the dad who wants a benedict but doesn't want to feel dainty about it.
- Egg plates and waffles for the classicists, and a vegan avocado toast ($15.95) so nobody at the table is an afterthought.
If you want the full tour of how we do weekends, our all-day brunch page has the lay of the land.
The Toast Tower is the cake moment
Here's the move that makes Father's Day at toasted. feel like an occasion without anyone having to plan one: end the meal with a Toast Tower.
It's our signature dessert — dine-in only, built to arrive at the table and turn heads. Eight flavors, three sizes: Petite at $16.50, One Toast at $20.75, Two Toast at $28. Ask us to put a candle in it. That's it. That's the whole ceremony — Dad gets his “cake moment,” the table gets the photo, and nobody had to order a sheet cake three days in advance.
We've watched a lot of celebrations end this way, and honestly, it never gets old for us either.
For the coffee-nerd dad: the $17 Coffee Flight
If your dad is the type who has opinions about extraction, the $17 Coffee Flight is his gift, already wrapped. We pull Stumptown Hairbender espresso, keep Trapper Creek decaf for the evening-coffee dads, and make 11 syrups in-house — so the flight is a genuine tasting, not a gimmick. More on how we approach coffee here.
Bring the whole crew — including the dog
Father's Day is a whole-family holiday, and at our place that includes the four-legged members. Our patio is dog-friendly, so if Dad's best friend has a tail, bring them along. Water bowl energy is strong out there on a Sunday.
The late-afternoon advantage (this is the part most people miss)
Here's a quiet structural fact about brunch in the foothills: most cafés around here close by 3 or 4 in the afternoon. On Father's Day — a Sunday — we're open until 7 PM (kitchen closes at 6:30).
That means if your family's morning is already spoken for — church, a graduation party, Dad's golf game, the kids' practice — you haven't missed brunch. A 4 PM Father's Day meal at toasted. isn't a compromise; it's arguably the smartest reservation-free play in Montrose, because the morning crowd has come and gone and Dad gets the relaxed table he actually wanted.
Late-afternoon Father's Day is genuinely ours. We'd love to share it with you.
One honest tip: beat the brunch rush
We won't pretend otherwise — holiday mornings get busy at every brunch spot in the foothills, ours included. If your heart is set on a classic mid-morning Father's Day brunch, come on the early side. If you'd rather skip the wait entirely, that 2–6 PM window is the secret door (see above).
