Cake gets eaten in five minutes. A Toast Tower takes thirty — that's how long the conversation around it lasts. Bread instead of sponge means the structure holds while ice cream melts into it. Montrose — where we are, at 2420 Honolulu Ave — is a neighborhood within the city of Glendale, CA (the Montrose business district was annexed to Glendale in 1952), about 10 minutes north of downtown Glendale via the 2 Freeway. The postal address says 'Montrose, CA 91020' because USPS uses the neighborhood name. We're distinct from unincorporated La Crescenta-Montrose next door.

Dietary & allergens
Yes. Fully vegan: the Vegan BLTA sandwich ($17.95) and four vegan salads ($16.75–$19.75), with oat/almond milk on any drink at no upcharge. Two more are close: Avocado Toast ($15.95) and the Za'atar sandwich ($15.95) are vegetarian because of the feta — ask us to hold it and they are plant-based. The Tahini, Dates & Dark Cacao toast ($13.50) comes with honey and whip cream, both of which we can leave off.
We don't share fryers between vegan and non-vegan items. The vegan salads are built on the same line as their non-vegan twins — same quality, just plant-based throughout. We can flag tree-nut-free items on request. Note that the kitchen handles dairy, eggs, wheat, and tree nuts on shared equipment, so for severe allergies please call ahead.
