Holiday Catering in Montrose — How We Do It

Every November the calls start. Office HR coordinators planning the December all-hands. Real-estate teams doing client appreciation events. Small businesses trying to host a proper team breakfast for the first time. Families hosting forty cousins on Christmas Eve and finally giving up on cooking for them all themselves.

We cater all of it. Here's the unglamorous breakdown of what we actually offer, what to expect, and how to think about it.

What We Cater

Three core packages, all customizable:

• Coffee Bar — drip coffee (regular & decaf), cold brew carafe, pastry tray, all the cups/lids/oat milk. Serves 15–25. Best for morning meetings, open houses, gallery events, anywhere you want to keep the energy up without a full meal.
• Breakfast Spread — full coffee bar plus breakfast sandwich platter, breakfast toast selection, fresh fruit, pastries. Serves 20–30. Best for office holiday parties before noon and family-side breakfasts on Christmas / New Year's morning.
• Toast Tower Station — our signature. A dedicated barista on-site, four Tower flavors of your choice, full coffee bar, custom toppings bar. Serves 30–50. Best for events where the dessert is the show — birthday parties, end-of-year celebrations, anything that needs a centerpiece moment.

Plus add-ons: Armenian Coffee Service (we bring a jazve setup), live latte art station, and capacity beyond the package size on request.

What We've Learned

A few things, after several years of holiday catering across Montrose, Glendale, La Crescenta, La Cañada, and La Crescenta:

Book early — December books out fast

Our catering minimum lead time is 48 hours, but for the December 10–24 window we typically book 3–4 weeks ahead. If you're reading this in early November and you have a holiday event planned, today is the right day to send us the date. The Toast Tower Station in particular has limited weekend slots because we need a barista on-site.

Office breakfasts beat office lunches

Counterintuitive but true: morning catering for office events has higher attendance and better engagement than the equivalent lunch. People show up on time for breakfast in a way they don't for lunch. They're fresher. They linger less. The whole event runs cleaner.

If you're trying to decide between an 8:30 AM breakfast spread and a 12:30 PM lunch spread — pick breakfast. We'll deliver, set up, and be done by 9, leaving you the rest of the day for actual work.

Holiday family events get the Tower Station

For family gatherings where you're trying to do something memorable, the Toast Tower Station is the move. It's assembly-as-entertainment. Kids love it, adults photograph it, and it removes the "what's for dessert" question from the host's plate.

One Christmas Eve last year we did a Tower Station for an extended family of 38 in La Cañada. The host later told us it was the only year nobody asked her if she needed help in the kitchen.

Dietary stuff: always tell us in the inquiry

We do vegan and dairy-free across all three packages. We can flag tree-nut-free items. We can do gluten-careful (though as our FAQ notes, we don't certify gluten-free because of shared kitchen equipment). The earlier you tell us about dietary needs, the cleaner we can build your spread.

Delivery radius is ~15 miles

We deliver Montrose, Glendale, La Crescenta, La Cañada, Pasadena, Sun Valley, Burbank, and most of the foothill / mid-valley LA area. Beyond ~15 miles we'll usually decline — not because we couldn't do it, but because the food quality drops once it's been in the van too long.

How to Book

1. Fill out the catering form with your event date, guest count, and what you're thinking.
2. Or email catering@toastedcafemontrose.com directly if you'd rather skip the form.
3. Our coordinator will reach out within 1–2 business days with a custom quote.
4. Once you confirm, we'll handle delivery, setup, service, and cleanup.

For December events, please book by the end of November if you can. After that we'll do our best, but slots tighten fast.
